My 1st collaboration with director Wolfgang Becker who I met in film school as he was teaching as a part time professor. I was very excited to be asked to do 2nd Unit for Wolfgang’s movie cause it was my first big gig out of film school, apart from commercials. The movie turned out to be a huge success and achieved what politics couldn’t. It reunited Germany because people from both sides connected with the story.

It was DP-ed by the wonderful late Martin Kukula BVK. On the second schedule, Frank Griebe (Run Lola Run, The Perfume, Babylon Berlin) took over and I loved working with him just as much.
